Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of detailwiki.com (the “Service”), operated by DetailWiki (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

DetailWiki is a reference database of real construction details, organized for professional reference. We may change, add to, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

2. Reference use only

All content on the Service is provided for general reference, study, and inspiration only. Nothing on the Service constitutes architectural, engineering, or other professional advice, and no detail is represented as suitable for any particular project or site. Every detail must be reviewed, adapted, and approved by a qualified professional licensed in the relevant jurisdiction before any use in design or construction. You are solely responsible for verifying dimensions, materials, structural adequacy, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and site conditions. We accept no responsibility for the consequences of using any detail in a project.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your credentials confidential, and not share your account. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Membership and billing

Paid memberships are billed through Stripe on a monthly or annual cycle and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account; access continues to the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. Prices may change with notice effective from your next billing cycle.

5. License

An active membership grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service — view details in full resolution, download the provided files, and adapt what you find for use in your own professional work and project documents. No ownership of any detail is transferred. This license does not permit redistribution, resale, republication, or sharing of details or files, in whole or in part, nor their use to build a competing product or library, or to train machine-learning models.

6. Acceptable use

Automated access, scraping, bulk downloading, and circumventing access limits or content protection are prohibited. Images and downloads are watermarked and traceable to the account that retrieved them; sharing credentials or redistributing content is a material breach of these Terms. Access is rate-limited and metered. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, without refund.

7. Ownership

DetailWiki does not claim ownership of the construction details themselves; they are made available for reference only. The Service — its compilation, organization, database, and software — is protected by intellectual-property and database laws, and no rights in the Service are granted beyond the license in section 5.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and compliance with any building code or standard.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, nor for any loss arising from the use of any detail in a design or construction project. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or from the use of any content in your projects.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and material changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
