A steel strut connection is mounted to a concrete wall via an embedded steel plate assembly. The connection utilizes a 12-inch by 6-inch by 3/8-inch embed plate labeled P-6, anchored with reinforcing bars and tied into surrounding framing by others. Additional plate elements measuring 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 2-foot-4-inch and 3/4-inch by plate thickness by 2-foot-4-inch incorporate ten number 6 bars, 54 inches long, welded with typical quarter-inch fillet welds. Expanded polystyrene insulation is removed locally to provide a 1-inch clearance around the assembly, accompanied by three number 4 U-bars and surface reinforcing mesh continued behind the connection. Number 6 bars are provided at each dowel bar anchor to lap for continuous reinforcing between connections.
