Vertical pier reinforcing is provided per the panel elevation, while horizontal reinforcing extends from above or below the opening into the pier. Standard hooks are required where the pier width is less than the bar development length. Expanded polystyrene insulation is removed to provide a one-inch clearance at the reinforcing near openings.
