A typical concrete equipment pad is cast over a roughened concrete and steel deck slab with a maximum pad height of twelve inches. The pad is reinforced with number four bars spaced at eighteen inches each way, maintaining a one and one-half inch clearance. Vertical reinforcement consists of number four bars at twenty-four inches each way embedded into the supporting steel deck and slab assembly.
