A security hardware installation for a single door features a card reader on the unsecured side mounted with a back box and one-gang mud ring at forty-four inches above the finished floor. An eight-by-eight-by-six-inch security junction box is installed above the door, connecting to a concealed door contact in the frame and a power transfer hinge. An electric exit device with integrated request-to-exit operates at the door. Minimum three-quarter-inch conduits route cabling from the junction box down to the door components and card reader, while a one-and-a-half-inch conduit extends to the nearest cable tray or accessible ceiling, running plenum cable to the security panel location.
