A number one American Wire Gauge bare copper ground wire loops along the interior walls of the vault, connected at cable ends with an exothermic weld. Three-quarter-inch by eight-feet copper-clad steel ground rods are driven at the corners, utilizing cast copper or bronze ground clamps or exothermic welds. A twelve-inch by four-inch ground bar mounts to the wall with a ground tap linked to the copper wire. Section A details the vertical alignment of the ground rod and wire relative to the vault structure.
