Electrical, telephone, or data cables pass through an opening in a wall with an annular space ranging from one-quarter to three-quarters of an inch. Firestop putty is applied to a depth of five-eighths of an inch on both sides of the wall assembly. This installation achieves a two-hour F rating and a zero-hour T rating under Underwriters Laboratories System Number W-J-3046.
