A surface-mounted junction box is installed on a wall or column above a structural slab, connected by a one-and-a-quarter-inch conduit stub-up running through the drywall or column. The conduit routes upward to an inaccessible ceiling space, extending horizontally to the nearest accessible ceiling for a homerun connection to the telecommunications room. The entire assembly spans between the structural concrete slab below and the concrete slab above.
