An HSS 6x4 elevator separator beam is supported by a structural steel framing member using an L8x6x1/2 angle cut to fit with long legs vertical. The connection utilizes a 3/16-inch fillet weld at the angle-to-column interface and a 1/4-inch fillet weld with a 3-inch minimum length at the HSS-to-angle connection, along with an additional 3/16-inch weld. Dimensional notes require a 2-inch minimum clearance unless noted otherwise.
