A 4-inch galvanized iron pipe rises through the roof penetration, sealed with roof flashing, and connects to the telecommunication room ceiling space below. A weather-head fitting sits at the top of the pipe, routing a CAT6A data cable through a water-sealed grommet into a wireless access external enclosure. The enclosure mounts to the pipe using two 12-inch long strut members secured by one-quarter-inch diameter U-bolt clamps in two places. The conduit requires grounding to the building, and all roof penetrations and weatherhead attachments must follow methods approved by the architect and structural engineer.
