An eight-inch by eight-inch by six-inch security junction box is mounted above the door and connects to a security panel location and the nearest cable tray via conduit. A door contact is concealed in the frame three inches above the latch, while a power transfer hinge feeds the electric exit device at the door leaf. A local alarm sounder is positioned eighteen inches above the junction box on the secured side using a single-gang box and mud ring. Biometric or card readers are installed on both the secured and unsecured sides with their centerlines eight inches from the opening and forty-four inches above the finished floor.
