A structural steel beam frames into the web of a wide-flange or hollow structural section column per the schedule using a welded-bolted shear tab connection. A half-inch thick steel plate with a yield strength of fifty kilopounds per square inch is centered on the beam web and welded to the column flange or web with a weld size determined per the table. The connection uses two columns by n rows of one-inch diameter A490 slip-critical bolts spaced at three inches on center. The bolt group is centered vertically on the beam with standard edge distances of two inches typical. Additional plate stiffeners are provided on the column web per drawing 2/S310.
