An L2x2x3/16 structural steel kicker angle braces a supporting steel beam up to the metal deck above, shown in both parallel and perpendicular deck configurations. The kicker connects at its upper end to an L3x3x3/16 angle welded beneath the metal deck with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld on each end. The lower end of the kicker is welded to the top flange of the beam per plan. Deck welding specifications call for twenty gauge material with four inch minimum dimensions. All connections utilize standard fillet welds as indicated unless otherwise noted.
