Cold-formed steel wall studs terminate at a structural floor or roof deck via a wall top track secured with top track anchorage. Drift clips connect the wall studs to the top track while allowing for horizontal structural movement. Jamb studs are installed where required at openings. Top screws through sheathing must be located one inch below the track, and screws must not be attached through steel studs directly into the top track to maintain the drift joint functionality.
