The assembly joins two adjacent cross-laminated timber deck panels by mortising a 25 mm thick by 300 mm wide Douglas fir plywood spline into the top surface. Mechanical fasteners tie the plywood spline into both CLT panels according to structural connection loads specified on the engineering plans. This surface spline connection detail provides load transfer across adjacent mass timber floor or roof panels.
