A brace beam connects to a continuous structural steel beam below via a seven-eighths inch thick Grade 50 baseplate secured with four three-quarters inch diameter ASTM A325X bolts through the flange of the beam below. The assembly includes five-eighths inch thick full-height stiffener plates on each side of the connection. A frame column is positioned per plan and elevation, with brace beams sized per plan.
