A structural steel top braced frame connection joins a beam and diagonal brace to a hollow structural section column. The HSS column is capped with a one-quarter-inch thick plate secured with a one-eighth-inch perimeter fillet weld. A beam connects to the column and gusset plate via a three-eighth-inch connection plate with standard holes, sized per structural specifications. A diagonal brace frames into the gusset plate welded to the column and beam assembly with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld.
