An open web steel joist is reinforced for concentrated loads occurring at or between typical panel points. Where concentrated loads do not occur at panel points, an additional angle sized JL 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 5/16 is added as shown. A one-eighth inch fillet weld is applied typically at each end of the reinforcement. Typical panel points and concentrated load locations are designated along the top and bottom chords.
