A structural steel beam supports a metal roof deck with a 3/16 inch fillet weld. A steel joist connects adjacent framing, featuring a beam web stiffener on each side welded with a 1/4 inch fillet weld. A continuous hollow structural section measuring HSS 10x5x3/16 acts as a curtain wall support. The backup wall consists of 3-5/8 inch by 18 gauge cold-formed steel studs spaced at 16 inches on center within continuous top and bottom tracks of 3-5/8 inch by 16 gauge steel. Three number 12 self-tapping screws secure each stud intersection.
