This connection utilizes a one-half inch thick gusset plate welded to a wide flange column to support an HSS brace. The brace is secured to the gusset plate using four three-quarter inch diameter A325N bolts. The gusset plate is attached to the column with one-quarter inch fillet welds at eighteen inches on center. The HSS brace is welded to the gusset plate with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds, with a one-half inch minimum clearance provided at the connection interface. A horizontal HSS beam is also shown framing into the column, with connection details referenced to sheet 5/S-43004.
