A structural steel column terminates with a cap plate sized to match the internal stiffener plates, maintaining a one-half-inch minimum thickness. Connection plates bolt to the supported beams and are welded to the column assembly with quarter-inch fillet welds. Internal stiffener plates align with the beam flanges and receive quarter-inch fillet welds. Refer to the connection schedule for bolt sizes, spacing, and additional fabrication requirements.
