An exhaust fan discharges into a transition duct fitted with a flexible connection, a backdraft damper, and an isolation damper. A duct smoke detector and an additional isolation damper are installed along the vertical duct run before it transitions to a thirty by thirty inch fresh air duct. A horizontal thirty by thirty inch duct is supported by standard hanger details above a concrete slab. The exhaust fan is mounted on a housekeeping pad at bottom of duct elevation 3.42.
