A skewed steel beam frames into a structural steel column flange using a three-quarter-inch thick Grade 50 connection plate welded with a half-inch fillet weld. A matching three-quarter-inch thick stiffener plate is aligned with the connection plate on the opposite flange. Twelve one-inch diameter A325X bolts secure the beam web in a six-by-two pattern with standard holes in both plates and beam web. Bolt spacing is three inches typical with a one-and-a-half-inch vertical bolt edge distance.
