A beam per plan bears onto a one-half-inch thick bearing plate matching the beam width, welded to the top of a hollow structural section column with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. Four three-quarter-inch diameter bolts fasten the beam flange to the bearing plate at the beam gauge.
