Grade beam and intersecting beam reinforcement features number five top and bottom dowels with a one-foot six-inch typical lap length. A ninety-degree hook terminates the longitudinal bars at the corner and intersection conditions. The corner condition allows omitting dowels by bending the continuous beam bars one foot six inches minimum into the perpendicular member.
