An upturned pile cap sits adjacent to an existing concrete mat foundation supporting a slab on grade, separated by a bond breaker. New and existing foundations are supported by augercast piles and existing timber piles where applicable. Existing precast piles are abandoned where they occur below the new construction. The basement mat slab transitions to the parking level at a lower elevation.
