A queen post tension rod aligns with the center line of a custom steel bucket connection attached to a wide-flange steel column. The top chords of the wood members are notched to accommodate the queen post tension rod bearing plate, with the work point centered on the face of the column. A glulam girder and cross-laminated timber floor panels frame into the wide-flange column, with perpendicular framing omitted for clarity.
