Steel beams of different depths connect to opposite sides of a column flange using a single plate shear tab welded to the column and bolted to the beam web. The shear tab thickness equals the beam web thickness plus one-quarter inch, with bolt sizing and counts detailed on plan. Top and bottom continuity plates are welded across the column flanges, utilizing the larger flange thickness of the two connecting beams. A sloped bottom plate is provided when the beam slope is less than three inches.
