A stair stringer bears onto a concrete slab-on-grade supported by a continuous thickened slab footing. The footing measures one foot six inches wide and includes two continuous number five reinforcing bars with three inches of clear cover. A three-by-three by five-sixteenths-inch angle, six inches long, connects the stringer to the slab using a three-quarter-inch diameter expansion bolt. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the assembly.
