A hollow structural section beam frames into the web of a wide flange beam with bearing support. Three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates are welded to each side of the hollow structural section beam using quarter-inch welds. The stiffener plates are welded to the wide flange beam on three sides with quarter-inch welds. The top of the hollow structural section beam is coped as required with a quarter-inch minimum clearance. The larger side of the hollow structural section is oriented unless noted otherwise.
