A continuous shear tab passes directly through a hollow structural section post or hanger to receive two-sided beam or channel connections. A one-half-inch cap plate is welded at the top of the post where beams or channels occur. The hollow structural section tube is slotted to accommodate the through-plate. Bolts and shear tab sizes are sized per the non-moment beam connection schedule. Two-sided fillet welds secure the connection assembly.
