A buckling-restrained brace frames into a gusset plate attached to a steel floor beam supporting concrete over steel deck. The gusset plate is slotted to receive the buckling-restrained brace connection. Half-inch stiffener plates are welded to the near side and far side of the gusset with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. The gusset and attachment design is provided by the manufacturer. The supporting steel beam is sized per plan.
