A structural steel truss connects to a hollow structural section column via a WT7x24x0'-9" section welded to the column top with a quarter-inch fillet weld. A half-inch by six-inch by nine-inch plate is bolted to the truss per plan using two 1-inch diameter A490-PT-STD bolts. Four-inch by two-inch typical stiffener plates of quarter-inch thickness are welded to the assembly with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. Quarter-inch fillet welds secure the WT section to the supporting plate elements.
