A buckling-restrained brace connection frames into a W18x55 beam and column per schedule. A five-eighths-inch thick gusset plate connects to the beam web and bottom flange with continuous fillet welds, and to the column centerline working point. Transverse five-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to the top and near-side and far-side flanges with complete joint penetration welds. A half-inch Grade 50 plate with two rows of A325 slip-critical bolts provides a beam splice connection. The buckling-restrained brace attaches to the gusset plate using manufacturer-specified bolts per sheet S-611.
