This structural detail shows utility pipes and electrical conduits routed within a concrete slab-on-grade and underlying compacted crushed base rock. The assembly rests on compacted rock with a vapor retarder that is sealed at all pipe and conduit penetrations. Conduits and pipes are embedded either directly within the concrete slab requiring a minimum one inch of cover or one and one-half inches of embedment, or set within the compacted rock beneath the slab. Sleeves are provided at pipe penetrations per similar details, and utility locations are coordinated by others.
