A Class II tinned copper main-sized down conductor transitions into a 1-inch PVC-80 conduit that extends six feet above the building exterior finished grade. Conduit supports are provided at intervals not to exceed three feet. The down conductor connects via an exothermic weld to a No. 4/0 AWG bare stranded copper conductor. This conductor links to a 3/4-inch by 10-foot copper-clad ground rod of the earth electrode system.
