A reinforced concrete grade beam supports a concrete slab below finish grade, with member width and depth sized per the structural schedule. Two number 4 dowels spaced at sixteen inches on center feature twelve inches of embedment into the grade beam. Longitudinal reinforcement includes top bars, top added bars, bottom bars, bottom added bars, and number 4 stirrups per schedule. Number 5 bars are placed each face for grade beam depths greater than thirty inches. Reinforcing must extend into adjacent footings per the typical grade beam reinforcement detail.
