This connection features a one-half inch thick plate welded to the column web with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. The beam web is secured to this plate using two three-quarter inch diameter A325N bolts. The bolt spacing is set at three inches typical, with a seven-inch total vertical spacing. A minimum clearance of one-half inch is maintained between the beam end and the column face. The connection is designed for horizontal long-slotted movement as referenced in the project notes.
