A steel stub cantilever beam is shop-attached to a structural steel column using quarter-inch fillet welds on both the wide-flange and hollow structural section configurations. The stub matches the size of the connecting steel beam per plan, unless otherwise noted. A bolted shear connection links the stub cantilever to the continuous steel beam using standard connection details. Quarter-inch fillet welds are applied around the perimeter of the beam flanges and web where they meet the column flange.
