A reinforced concrete grade beam supports an adjoining slab on grade, with beam dimensions and reinforcement sizes sized per schedule. The grade beam contains top longitudinal bars, top added bars, bottom longitudinal bars, bottom added bars, and closed stirrups as specified in the schedule. Additional #5 bars are placed each face when the beam depth is greater than thirty inches. Reinforcing steel extends into adjacent footings per the typical grade beam reinforcement detail.
