A wide-flange beam supports an angle placed between joists, sized as either L5x3x1/4 with the long leg vertical for long-span (LH) series joists or L2-1/2x2-1/2x1/4 with the long leg vertical for open-web steel joists (K series). Metal deck spans across the assembly per structural plans. A three-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the connection at three-inch spacing on alternating sides or specified intervals.
