An anchor bolt is embedded into a concrete mass with a hooked tail extending away from the face of concrete. Minimum embedment depths vary by bolt size according to the accompanying schedule, ranging from five inches for one-half inch to five-eighths and three-quarters inch bolts, up to six inches for seven-eighths inch bolts and seven inches for one-inch bolts. A minimum two-inch embedment is maintained unless noted otherwise. Minimum bolt spacing is twelve bolt diameters with a minimum edge distance of six diameters.
