A structural steel HSS rafter tail framing connection is supported by a wide-flange girder with a two-bolt minimum shear tab. The assembly incorporates an HSS fascia, hollow structural section outriggers sized per the schedule, and a wide-flange rafter with a typical backspan dimension equal to one-third of the overhang. Intersecting outriggers break in one direction and are welded all around with quarter-inch fillet welds. Additional requirements include diaphragm connections per sheet S5.5 and shear tab connections per sheet S5.1.
