This connection utilizes a shear tab welded to the supporting member to receive the supported beam. The shear tab is bolted to the web of the supported member with a typical bolt spacing of 3 inches and an edge distance of 1 1/2 inches. The shear tab is welded to the supporting member with a fillet weld sized 'A'. Where noted on the plan, a full-depth shear tab is required, which includes additional fillet welds at the top and bottom flanges of the supported member.
