The beam per plan frames into the column per plan using a welded moment connection combined with a shear plate connection per detail 7/S601. Three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates are welded to the top and bottom of the beam flanges with typical one-quarter-inch fillet welds. Weld access holes are provided at the beam web and flange intersections. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld is applied typically to each flange.
