A braced frame kicker connection runs between a W18 beam and a W24 girder beneath a concrete slab. An L4x4x3/8 angle serves as the kicker, welded to 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 0-foot-6-inch plates with 3/16-inch fillet welds at each end. The connection is secured with 7/8-inch diameter A325-N bolts at each end. A note specifies that the angle must be installed after slab placement.
