A davit socket pedestal is centered on a seven-eighths-inch thick column cap plate. A half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plate is welded to each side of the column, omitted where a shear tab occurs. Beams frame into the column using shear tabs connected with a half-inch fillet weld.
