An angle brace spans between parallel steel joist girders with a cut leg allowing the top of the flange to bear on the supporting steel beam. A three-bolt connection ties the steel beam to the supporting member, with a minimum three-inch bearing required at each end. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the assembly beneath the metal roof deck. Detail reference D6 on sheet S701 points to the connection condition at the deck level.
