Steel bar joists bear on a structural steel girder with a continuous wood nailer and roof plywood sheathing above. A 4" x 1/4" x 7" plate sits beneath the joist seat at the support. Connections are specified as per Steel Joist Institute standards with field welds. A welded girder brace is included as required by the manufacturer to brace the girder.
