A steel column base plate connection includes stiffener plates welded to the column flange and web. Complete joint penetration demand critical welds attach the column flanges and web. Anchor rod holes in the base plate are oversized by one-half inch. A buckling-restrained brace gusset plate connects to the column flange with specified fillet welds, while similar locations omit the gusset and shear plates as noted.
